FINA becomes World Aquatics as new brand launched

MELBOURNE: FINA, the Fédération Internationale de Natation, Monday become World Aquatics following a vote at an Extraordinary Congress on the eve of the World Swimming Championships (25m) 2022. 

Over its 114-year history, FINA and its 209 member federations have maintained responsibility for swimmers, artistic swimmers, divers, high divers, open water swimmers and water polo players.

LAUSANNE: Given the uncertainty related with the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, the safeguard of the athletes’ health and safety, and in accordance with the request of the UAE authorities, FINA has decided to re-schedule the upcoming edition of the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), initially programmed to take place in December in Abu Dhabi.
