LONDON: The English Football League (EFL), which operates the three divisions below the Premier League, has rejected a "conditional" £50 million (€55.3m/$64.7m) offer put forward Wednesday by the Premier League in respect to the financial support required as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

LONDON: English football club Aston Villa has announced that it has received significant amount of investments from Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawiris and the USA’s Fortress Investment Group co-owner, Wes Edens which have been approved by the EFL. The agreement will ensure that the club’s present owner, Dr Tony Xia, will become co-chairman and remain on the board of directors.

LONDON: The Football Association (FA), England football’s governing body announced on Friday a new annual mid-season player break which will be implemented from the 2019-20 season onwards. This applies to the Premier League and the EFL.

LONDON: The Premier League is in discussions with the Football Association (FA) and the English Football League (EFL) in an effort to introduce a winter break during the course of the season.
