There is reportedly a 51% decline in the number of advertisers on TV during the first 19 matches of TATA IPL 2023 as compared to IPL 2022.

The first 19 matches of IPL 2023 saw 35 advertisers on television as against 72 after the same number of games in 2022, reports Best Media Info, referencing BARC India data for Week 15.

In terms of the number of brands advertising on television, there is a 43% drop this year. There were 67 brands that advertised on TV in the first 19 matches versus 118 brands during the same period last year.

MUMBAI: The Advertising Club, the apex industry body, at its 65th Annual General meeting Wednesday, elected BARC India CEO Partho Dasgupta as president for the year 2019-20. The other office-bearers who have been elected unopposed to the managing committee for FY20 include Parth Singa (vice president), Dr Bhaskar Das (secretary), Aditya Swamy (jt. secretary), and Shashi Sinha (treasurer).

MUMBAI: BARC India Sunday launched its new product “PrimaVU”, which is aimed at measuring viewership from premium homes.   Through “PrimaVU”, BARC India also introduces the industry first concept of “viewing minutes”, which is basically the sum of all individuals watching an event basis the time spent by them. Also, PrimaVU is a separate product and not part of the currency panel measurement.

MUMBAI: Even as sports viewership is rising in the country, cricket's stranglehold on consumption is only becoming more dominant, with 93% of all sports viewers in 2018 tuning to cricket content, according to a BARC India report. According to the  report ‘Cricket in India: It’s not just a game’, as many as 766 million viewers sampled sports content in 2018.
