MUMBAI: Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), the industry TV viewership measurement body, on Friday announced the appointment of Nakul Chopra as its new Chief Executive Officer effective August 25.

This announcement comes as Sunil Lulla has decided to resign from the position of CEO to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.

Chopra had joined the BARC India Board in 2016 and had been elected as the Chairman during 2018-19. In January 2020, he was appointed as a member of BARC’s Oversight Committee.

MUMBAI: BARC India has transitioned from using the term ‘Impressions’ to ‘Average Minute Audience’, abbreviated as ‘AMA’, in cognizance with the Technical Committee. Data releases via the BARC India website for Week 47 (Saturday, November 21, 2020) onwards will reflect AMA. The change in terminology started reflecting on YUMI Analytics for BARC India subscribers from December 1 onwards.

MUMBAI: Indian Premier League 2020 saw 405 million viewers tuning in, and crossed the 400-billion miletsone in total viewing minutes, data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC) indicates.  In terms of total viewing minutes, this is a 23% growth over IPL 2019, which recorded 326 billion viewing minutes on TV, Moneycontrol reports, quoting from the BARC data points.

MUMBAI: The Advertising Club, the apex industry body, at its 65th Annual General meeting Wednesday, elected BARC India CEO Partho Dasgupta as president for the year 2019-20. The other office-bearers who have been elected unopposed to the managing committee for FY20 include Parth Singa (vice president), Dr Bhaskar Das (secretary), Aditya Swamy (jt. secretary), and Shashi Sinha (treasurer).
