Anti-Corruption Unit

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday appointed former Gujarat DGP Shabir Hussein Shekhadam Khandwawala as the head of its Anti-Corruption Unit.

Khandwawala replaces Ajit Singh, former DGP of Rajasthan, whose tenure ended on March 31. Singh has been a part of the Indian cricket board's ACU since April 2018.

"It is a matter of a great honour that I am part of the BCCI which is the best run cricketing body in the world.

"Besides my expertise on security matters, what should help me in this role is my love for the game.

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has has taken steps to strengthen anti-corruption measures at the venues where the domestic T20 League 2018 is being played and the hotels, which the players are stationed, after it was noted that suspicious individuals were present at the match venues such as in Dambulla during a league game between Galle and Kandy on Saturday.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Ajit Singh as its new Anti-Corruption Unit head in place of former Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, who has been retained as advisor till May 31. Singh will take charge of the office ahead of 2018 season of IPL and he will be based out of BCCI headquarters at Cricket Centre, Mumbai.

MUMBAI: The BCCI announced Thursday that Mohammed Shami had been cleared by its anti-corruption unit of match fixing charges brought against the embattled pacer by his  estranged wife, following which the board would "proceed with offering a Grade ‘B’ annual retainership contract".

NEW DELHI: Mohammed Shami, in all likelihood, will find himself back in the list of centrally contracted players if the report filed by the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) head Neeraj Kumar absolves him from any wrongdoing as per the board’s code of ethics.  Once the report comes out, the onus will be on Delhi Daredevils to decide on Shami’s participation in the Indian Premier League.
