NEW DELHI: A major hurdle in the Pakistan football team’s participation in this month’s South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup was cleared on Wednesday when the All India Football Federation (AIFF) got clearance from the Indian government to host the Pakistan football team. 

According to reports, India’s home, external affairs and sports ministries have provided all required clearances for Pakistan’s participation in the tournament.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation League Committee on Monday decided to postpone the Hero I-League by at least six weeks after a fresh COVID-19 outbreak hit the participating teams inside the bio-bubble. I-League was suspended for a week last Wednesday after COVID-19 breached its bio-bubble. Eight players and three officials had tested positive last week.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation League Committee will decide January 4-5 when to hold the Hero I-League 2021-22 matches that were scheduled for December 30-31, 2021. The I-League had been suspended following the increasing cases of the Delta and Omicron variants of the Coronavirus across the country.

NEW DELHI: The roadmap for the Hero Indian Super League, laid out September 2020, wherein relegation and promotion is to be introduced from the 2024-25 season, and leading up to that, the Hero I-League winners will get “direct slots” in the ISL from the 2023-2024 season, remains on track, All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Kushal Das said on Monday.

NEW DELHI: The Hero I-League 2021-22, which is all set to kick off from December 26 in three venues in and around Kolkata, will have the widest geographical spread spread to date. The upcoming edition will feature 13 teams from 11 cities.   The Mohun Bagan ground in Kolkata, the picturesque Kalyani Stadium and the Naihati Stadium are the three venues that will host the latest edition of the I-League.

NEW DELHI: Weeks before the start of the 2021 season of the Hero I-league, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday barred former champions Chennai City FC from what is now officially India's second-tier league.  The decision to bar the I-League 2018–19 champions was taken by the AIFF's Club Licensing Committee after the The Lions failed to comply with licensing regulations.

NEW DELHI: The inaugural edition of the Hero Futsal Club Championship, being organised by the All India Football Federation - India’s first-ever futsal tournament at a national level - will run from November 5-13 in New Delhi.
