Afghanistan Cricket Board

The 

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) have entered into a five-year mutual cooperation agreement wherein the Taliban-ruled hardline country's national team will play their home games in the UAE. 

A corollary of the agreement is that Afghanistan will also play a series of three T20I matches each year with UAE national team. In return, ECB will provide logistic support to the Afghanistan board, including visa assistance and office space.

NEW DELHI: Snixer Sports, erstwhile commercial partners of the Afghanistan Cricket Board for the Afghanistan Premier League, has filed a $5 million damages claim against the ACB for "unfair termination" of contract in 2018. The board last year postponed the 2019 edition of APL after the league's commercial partner failed to pay the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) rights money.

NEW DELHI: Afghanistan will play a full series against West Indies, including a lone Test match, in their adopted home country India in November, PTI quotes the country’s cricket board as having said. The “home” series will include three T20Is, three ODIs apart from the only Test, beginning from November 27, against the Caribbeans. The venue of the Test as well as the shorter-format games are yet to be decided.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday has turned down the request of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to allow them to host the Afghanistan Premier League in India. A BCCI official told PTI it would be inappropriate to allow them to host APL here, given that India has its own league.

DEHRADUN: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has taken to its official Twitter handle to announce that it will be hosting the Ireland team for a full-fledged cricket tour in India starting Thursday. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in the North Indian city will see Afghanistan and Ireland battle it out in three T20Is, five ODIs and a one-off Test match.

KABUL: Azizullah Fazli was announced as the new chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Wednesday by Mohammad Ashrafi Ghani, the President of Afghanistan who is also the board’s patron-in-chief. Fazli was previously the vice-chairman and adviser of the board.

MUMBAI: The inaugural Afghanistan Premier League (APL) held its player draft on Monday and confirmed that five teams will be participating in the competition namely Kabul, Kandahar, Balkh, Paktia and Nangarhar. As many as 34 overseas players were bid for amongst the franchises, hailing from countries such as England, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, Nepal, Ireland and Netherlands.
