Centre Court Capital, a venture capital firm backed by the Sajjan Jindal Family Trust focused on the sports and gaming ecosystem in India, Thursday announced its investment in Quidich Innovation Labs, a sports broadcast technology company co-founded by Rahat Kulshreshtha and Gaurav Mehta.

The undisclosed investments secured through a Series A funding round aim to help Quidich expand its footprint across new sporting ventures in diverse geographies.

Quidich is leading the way in revolutionizing the technology and innovation landscape. Committed to pushing boundaries, they are dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that redefine sports and the way fans interact with the game.

Quidich enhances live sports broadcasts using advanced technological solutions with specialized camera systems, computer vision and augmented reality. They pivoted in 2019 to specialize exclusively in sports, starting with cricket.

This is a particularly unique opportunity as currently the sports media rights market is valued at $56 billion, and with technology being a key growth driver in the years to come, the global sports broadcasting technology market size is expected to reach $114bn by 2030.

The company has established itself as a key technology partner to clients such as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), International Cricket Council (ICC), Sky Sports and Sunset+Vine in the UK, Channel 7 in Australia, SuperSport in South Africa amongst others.

Quidich launched its new product offering, HypeReality, a groundbreaking product developed in collaboration with the ICC, is set to redefine the way fans engage with sports. This pioneering product leverages the unparalleled technological expertise of each partner, transforming the spectator experience by bringing the electrifying atmosphere of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 directly into homes worldwide with the Apple Vision Pro, the latest in immersive content technology.

Mustafa Ghouse, general partner at Centre Court Capital, said: “As sports broadcast technology undergoes a sector-wide transformation, broadcasters and leagues are searching for partners to guide them into a new era. We believe that Quidich's dedication and unwavering commitment to quality, demonstrated through their consistent pursuit of excellence in cricket broadcasting, positions them as the leaders for this transformation."

Kulshreshtha added: “We are thrilled to have Centre Court Capital come on board as investors. Beyond critical funding, they bring a legacy of sporting excellence and a shared belief in the transformative power of technology in sports. We are united in our goal to redefine the global sports viewing experience and are confident that with Centre Court Capital by our side, the game is about to change in ways we've only dreamt of."
