MUMBAI: Ragu Iyer, the veteran sports media executive who has helmed RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group's sports initiatives for just under seven years, has moved on.
Iyer, who resigned last month as chief executive officer of RPSG Sports, had overall charge of the group's interests in cricket and football, and earlier in table tennis as well.
For the record, RPSG Sports currently owns the Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants as well as Kolkata's legendary 133-year-old football club and Indian Super League team ATK Mohun Bagan.
As per reliable information available with SportzPower, Iyer is currently on a break for the next few months before taking up his next assignment.
Iyer, who has had a long innings in the sports business, was the CEO of IPL side Rajasthan Royals from July 2007 through to December 2015. Prior to his time with the Royals, he has had stints with the Discovery Channel and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
