India jersey to figure in FIFA merchandise

MUMBAI: Governing authority FIFA has decided to add the official team India jersey to the FIFA merchandise from this October, when India plays host to the U 17 World Cup.

The Jiggy George led Indian sport licensing company Dream Theatre has the rights for the next World Cup in Russia. Joy Bhattacharjya, project director, LOC, FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, told Economic Times, "For us, we do not look at it as much a financial opportunity. But, for every fan who wears that t-shirt is like a word of mouth for the tournament, and Indian football, which is really important. We are all invested in making this tournament really successful because this is what will make Indian football big."

Dream Theatre, which started its journey in the sport licensing business in 2014, has recently tied up with the Anirban Das Blah led celebrity management firm Kwan Entertainment to launch Mojostar, a celebrity-driven house of brands. The company will focus on partnering with celebrities to co-create authentic brands in the areas of fashion, fitness and personal care.
