NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

NEW DELHI: Former India opener Gautam Gambhir, who played for two Indian Premier League franchises in his career (Delhi and Kolkata), is reportedly set to buy a 10% stake in the Delhi Capitals, which is currently a 50:50 JV between JSW and GMR.  Gambhir is looking to buy 10% stake for Rs 1 billion, Times of India reports.

DOHA: The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) is all set to launch its own T10 league with international stars expected to take part.  The tournament, which will also be the country’s maiden international standard cricket league, will be played between six teams from December 7 to 16.

This time though, DDCA ombudsman Justice (Retd) Badar Durrez Ahmed has accepted the resignation of the noted media personality and promoter of the pro-government Hindi news channel India TV.
