NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

NEW DELHI: Hero MotorCorp Limited has extended their title sponsorship of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for another three years. The extension of the partnership means Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, will continue their title sponsorship of the Hero Caribbean Premier League until the 2022 season.

NEW DELHI: The capital's Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium is all set to be renamed as the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium. The development comes days after former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who was also the vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the president of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), passed away on Saturday.

NEW DELHI: Former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Saturday. He was 66 years old and is survived by his wife Sangeeta Jaitley, and two children - Sonali Jaitley Bakshi and Rohan Jaitley - both lawyers. Jaitley had undergone surgeries to treat his cancer, and had been admitted to the ICU on August 9.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced that Sporta Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Dream11), LafargeHolcim (ACC Cement and Ambuja Cement) and Hyundai Motor India Ltd. have acquired the Official Partners' Rights for the BCCI International and Domestic matches. This followed the conclusion of the Expression of Interest process for Official Partners’ Rights.
