NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Asian Cricket Council meeting scheduled to be held in Dubai on Tuesday was postponed after multiple members, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly, decided to skip the meeting in light of the coronavirus scare in UAE, according to media reports. Ganguly and BCCI secretary Jay Shah were supposed to represent the BCCI at the ACC meeting.

KOLKATA: Pakistan, technically the hosts of the next Asia Cup, have agreed to "host" the tournament at a neutral venue. That was the condition the "Big Daddy" of world cricket India set for participating in the biennial tournament. "Asia Cup will be held in Dubai and both India and Pakistan will play," BCCI president Sourav Ganguly told reporters at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

MUMBAI: Jaipur will host the third season of the Women’s T20 Challenge that will see an addition of an extra team, the BCCI announced on Saturday. The 2020 season will have a total of seven matches which will be played during the IPL Playoff week at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

MUMBAI: The BCCI has issued clarifications to the "Request for Proposal for The Right And Obligation to stage IPL fan parks" it had uploaded on February 18. At the time it had invited bids, it had stated: "Interested parties can seek clarification related to the RFP till February 25 by 12:00 pm (IST) and the deadline for proposal submission is March 2 by 11am."
