Broadcast Rights

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the television and digital rights to broadcast and stream all New Zealand-based Blackcaps and White Ferns matches into India and associated territories for the next seven years.

It bears noting that SPNI’s digital rights in India will be co-exclusive with incumbent rights holder Amazon Prime for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. 

While financial details were not disclosed, Economic Times reported that the deal value was in the $90 million to $100 million ball park.

MUMBAI: The Reliance-controlled Viacom18 network has bagged the exclusive TV and digital rights for the Abu Dhabi T10. The cricket tournament will premiere from 19th November live on Colors Cineplex SD (Hindi), Colors Cineplex HD (English), Rishtey Cineplex (Hindi), Voot and Jio.

MELBOURNE: MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports has confirmed a new five-year deal with the Foxtel Group in Australia, with MotoGP to be shown exclusively live on Fox Sports and Kayo from 2022 onwards.  A further contract extension also confirms the Foxtel Group as the home of WorldSBK in Australia from 2023.

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket has come away smiling after the India "B" team's recent tour of the Emerald Isles, which fattened SLC's coffers $14.5 million (Rs 1.077 billion) to the good. The series was originally slated for just three ODIs as per the original FTP programme. However, the SLC requested the BCCI to add three T20Is into the schedule as well.

MUMBAI: The Paralympic Committee of India has awarded the rights to broadcast the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games to Eurosport India. The Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, set to take place between 24 August and 5 September, will be the first time Eurosport broadcasts a global multi-sport event in India and expands on a diverse range of sports already available to fans across its platforms.

MUMBAI: New Zealand Cricket on Tuesday confirmed a four-month international winter schedule, incorporating tours to Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India, as well as the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. The BlackCaps will fly in to India immediately after the T20 World Cup, which concludes 14 November, for a series that comprises three T20 Internationals and two Tests.
