The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is planning to float a tender for the next cycle of Asia Cup media rights in the next one month, and is looking to complete the process by July, Cricbuzz reports. 

Per the cricket platform, the ACC will be offering both a four-year and eight-year deal but the impression from the broadcasters is that eventually the parties will settle for the long term option. There will be four Asia Cups in the tender with two 50-over championships and two Twenty20 competitions.

PARIS: The Asian Football Confederation confirmed China as the hosts for the Asian Cup 2023 at the AFC Extraordinary Congress here Tuesday. The unanimous decision marks the second time Asia’s crown jewel will be played in the People’s Republic of China which also hosted the 13th edition in 2004 when the tournament was expanded to 16 teams for the first time.

PARIS: FIFA has appointed Qatar as the host of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2019 and 2020 to function as test events for the next FIFA World Cup in 2022. Following the approval of a revamped FIFA Club World Cup with 24 teams, the pilot edition of which will be played in 2021, the FIFA Council decided to award Qatar the right to host the next two editions of the tournament in its existing format in 2019 and 2020.

KUALA LUMPUR: China will be the host nation of the the 18th edition of the AFC Asian Cup in 2023 after the only other bidders South Korea withdrew from the process. The tournament will involve 24 national teams after its expansion of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, including that of the host nation, assuming the current format of the finals is maintained. Qatar are the defending champions.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Wednesday issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for its package of football media rights for the 2021-2024 cycle in Saudi Arabia. The ITT offers the media rights for national team and club competitions, including the pinnacle national team events of the AFC Asian Cup and the Asian qualifying competition for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
