Tue, 07/09/2010 - 9:08am
VIEW FROM THE GROUND - The allegory is that like in the Indian wedding, there is chaos till the last minute, but after the first notes from the shehnai, everything falls in place. The unfortunate truth for the long suffering Indian citizen is this: everything is not falling in place...

Mon, 06/09/2010 - 7:30am
VIEW FROM THE GROUND - Like all ideas coined in the West which carries sufficient depth of meaning in their cultures, Indians borrow the word and drop out the content. Like CAT, or DINKI, or YUPPY of the past, we are glibly mouthing Legacy in every second or third sentence, but what does it mean? Practically nothing!

Games: Is Silence A Private-Public Joint Venture?
Mon, 17/05/2010 - 6:07am

VIEW FROM THE GROUND - If OC is the public sector, and industry the private one, then silence over the CWG seems a public-private enterprise, for sure. The question is, will we emerge in glory from behind the layers of curtains, or will India’s name be muck?

How About Some Transparency In Team Selection
Thu, 29/04/2010 - 8:42am

COMMENT - If Lalit Modi is accountable for all his actions, if things in IPL have to be transparent, the same logic should apply to team selection as well. Everyone within the BCCI is so engrossed in dealing with the suspended IPL commissioner, that the follies of the selection committee are not being taken note of at all.

Discipline, Not Flair Is What Indian Hockey Needs
Tue, 16/03/2010 - 6:08am
