Churchill to kick off AFC Cup campaign on 16 March

MUMBAI: After going down to Al Wahda in the AFC Champions league play-off, the reigning ONGC I-League champions, Churchill Brothers will now vie for AFC Cup 2010 and will start their campaign on 16 March against Kuwait SC at PJ Nehru Stadium, Margao.

Churchill Brothers are placed in Group B along with Kuwait SC (Kuwait) and Al Hilal (Yemen), while Federation Cup champions East Bengal find themselves in Group D and are clubbed with Al Nejmeh (Lebanon), Qadsia (Kuwait) and Al Ittihad (Syria).

The Kolkata giants will start their AFC Cup journey on 10 March against the Syrian heavyweights Al Ittihad in a home game at Yuba Bharathi Kirangan, Kolkata.

Match Schedule:
10 March: East Bengal vs. Al Ittihad (1500 hrs, Yuba Bharathi Kirangan, Kolkata)
16 March: Churchill Brothers vs. Kuwait SC (1600 hrs, PJ Nehru Stadium, Margao, Goa)
17 March: Al Nejmeh vs. East Bengal (1830 hrs, Sports City Stadium, Beirut)
24 March: Al Hilal vs. Churchill Brothers (1600 hrs, Ali Moshe Al Murals Stadium, Sana’a)
24 March: East Bengal vs. Qadsia (1500 hrs, Yuba Bharathi Kirangan, Kolkata)
6 April: Churchill Brothers vs. Al Hilal (1600 hrs PJ Nehru Stadium, Margao, Goa)
6 April: Qadsia vs. East Bengal (1830 hrs, Mohammed Al Hamada Stadium, Hawaii)
20 April: Al Ittihad vs. East Bengal (1600 hrs, Aleppo International Stadium)
27 April: East Bengal vs. Al Nejmeh (1500 hrs, Yuba Bharathi Kirangan, Kolkata)
28 April: Kuwait SC vs. Churchill Brothers (1930 hrs, Kuwait S.C. Stadium)
